You are an inspiration. You make me want to graduate college, get a job I love and be successful in many ways. I admire your drive, and hunger for work, your love for your son and husband, and the patience you’ve had with me for more than a decade. I want to be just like you. Sure, you have your flaws, we all do. Yet your success over shines everything else.
I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me throughout our friendship and growth as sisters. I am the lucky one who got blessed with a sister that I always wanted. Yes, it was a very bumping beginning, but I am so thankful we are there for each other always, and for you being my duet partner in the car for every Adele song that comes on the radio.
I don’t think I could have gotten through these past couple of months, and weeks without you being a call, a drive, or a text away. You have been my rock through it all because you’ve been in my shoes before. Thank you for picking me up for milkshakes in your pajamas and thank you for spoiling me occasionally with a nail appointment.
You have been my biggest cheerleader from making a sign for my 8th grade and high school graduation to cheering the loudest with tears in your eyes when I take my final bow after a show. Sure, the signs are embarrassing and so extra—but I have them rolled up in my closet still.
Thank you for giving me a nephew. Sure, I wanted a girl, but I have grown so in love with this boy and in love with watching him grow. I know raising him has been far from easy, and you having your own bumps in the road and things not going as planned, but I admire your strength. That boy is so kind, and full of puns, and is constant sunshine and love in my eyes. He also gives the best hugs.
I thank God every day for you becoming my sister. Vacations, dinners, and holidays are more fun with you by my side, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
