Dear NY Jets Management Team,
I've been a Jets fan as long as I can remember, through the Curtis Martin years, Chad Pennington years, Brett Favre year-ish, and, of course, the Sanchez years. I've been through the ups and the downs. The Edwards and Manginis, Ryans and Bowles. I've seen players come and go. But one thing hasn't changed: You guys still have no idea how to run a football team.
Inept, at this point, doesn't begin to cut it.
Somehow, you always hire head coaches that shine for a short amount of time and then crash and burn shortly after. Because that is exactly what happened to Eric Mangini and Rex Ryan, and everyone is watching it happen to Todd Bowles as you read this. A short while before I wrote this letter, we just lost to the Texans. The Texans. Do you think Jets fans are happy?
Because we're not. I'm a season ticket holder, so one thing I can judge rather well is the boos. I don't think there's been a stretch longer than two games without boos for the last three seasons' worth of home games. Jets fans are sick and tired of watching their team implode, year in and year out, without any accountability.
Please, Woody Johnson, sell the team. Mike Maccagnan, just resign. We need a complete overhaul, starting with all of you.
On behalf of Jets fans everywhere,
Larry Sulner
