To the Mini Vacations:
Hey readers! I recently took a small trip for the weekend, which I don't do too often. It got me thinking about how this helps stress. Although there are many ways to accomplish this, even the smallest getaways recharge us.
We don't really consider the time spent into one day. 24 hours seems like a good amount of time, but before long, I get not nearly as much done as intended; it passes so quickly. With this in mind, do you ever have a solid time frame to decompress?
If you can answer, 'yes,' then you're managing stress decently. To anyone that answered 'no,' this open letter is to encourage you to take a day or two off to do so. Listen, I know it can be hard to simply drop everything just to clear your head a bit. However, one day can make a huge difference.
I felt more focused and relaxed for the short amount of time I was gone. The adventures closest to home are worthwhile! There's also no need to spend money or travel far. Clearing your mental can be as easy as watching your favorite movies or binge watching a TV series.
Try writing down what your time off meant to you or even journaling a little throughout the day to reflect on later. However you decide to give yourself a much-needed break don't forget to rest and just be within the quiet.
Another suggestion can be to walk in nature as it can also be relaxing and healing. I'm not saying go on an all-out backpack expedition, but feeling the sun or the air can awaken the senses and cause your mind to settle a bit. If you live within the city, you could also simply visit your favorite places that you've wanted to go to; hey, you've got some time to yourself to do it!
I truly hope this week's letter causes some motivation to get recharged and re-inspired. We all need a little break, and sometimes, we forget to actually make a plan of action to do so.
Rest, recharge, and go be great!
Encouragingly,
Jessica
