What you did was NOT okay!

Dear Logan Paul,

I am not too familiar with who you are other than that you are a YouTuber and you have a brother named Jake who is also on YouTube.

I also know that you made headlines when you went to Japan and visited Aokigahara, which is nicknamed the Suicide Forest because legend has it that is where people go to commit suicide. You stumbled upon a dead body hanging on a tree but instead of stopping the filming, you filmed the body knowing well that you have 12-year-olds watching your videos and it could be easily disturbing for those who are triggered easily.

I did not write this letter with the intention of bashing you, instead, I wish to teach you.

I feel like when you made that video you could have cut out the part where you saw the body and maybe have talked about it after when you weren't in the forest, or at the very least not have filmed the body at all. Or, not have gone into the forest at all, after all that forest is not a tourist attraction. (I say this as someone who plans to visit Japan one day) but you could have maybe given people some education about it without going into the forest at all and traumatizing some people.

I would also like to tell you how easy it is for someone to get triggered. Think about all the people who have lost loved ones to suicide, some of them may even be friends of yours or fellow YouTubers. Think about those people and how hard it was for them to see that body because they have already been through it themselves.

I do wish you had thought before you had posted the video. I really do hope that you learn from all of this take the advice of YouTuber Casey Nesitat, he gave you some good advice, if you didn't see it I will tell you what it is.

He gave you the advice to use your channel to talk to about suicide prevention, give some information about it share some of these hotlines listed below:

Suicide Prevention Hotline: 800-273-8255
Depression Hotline: 1-888-640-5174
Self Harm Hotline: 1-877-455-0628
Mental Health Hotline: 866-677-5924

You can also volunteer at a hotline and talk to people who are dealing with these kinds of situations, donate some money to an organization, use that situation you got yourself in to actually spread some good.

I really truly hope that you learn from all of this, if you say all of this was to raise awareness of suicide prevention, then keep your word and use this as an opportunity to talk about it.

May you learn from all of this and hopefully this makes you a better person in the end.

Sincerely,

Someone who wants to make a difference

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
