An Open Letter To My Lady Friends This Galentine's Day
Juliana Cosenza

To all the lovely ladies in my life:

When you think of February, do you imagine red roses, chocolates, and love letters? Well, how about red sweaters, waffles, and appreciation posts from your amazing girlfriends? If you are thinking what I am thinking, then you know February 13 is the greatest time of the year. That's right, Happy Galentine's Day! Finally, I have a day of the year dedicated to all the amazing ladies in my life, and I'd just like to take a moment to give them some quality lady-to-lady appreciation that they wholeheartedly deserve.

First, I would like to give honorable mention to my first gal-pal ever, my lovely Mom. Since the womb, you have always managed to be my best friend, to give the right advice, and to be there for me. You have always cared, supported, and loved me, and I do not know what I would have ever done without you. Even more honest, I do not know who I would be without you.

From when I was only a little girl, you taught me how to be the best person I could be through kindness, humility, and most importantly, my faith. You were the first example of a quality lady in my life, and I cannot even explain in words how grateful I am to have such a positive and strong role model in my life this Galentine's Day.

Second, to all my ladies from back home. Not only do I miss you more than ever on a usual day, but now I miss you uncontrollably on this special holiday. I miss our shopping sprees to the Tanger Outlets, ice cream on the beach during the summertime, tennis matches, and all our breakfast/lunch dates. Thank you for giving me the comfort, confidence, and love to be myself.

Never have I ever had such amazing friends who have witnessed me throughout quite possibly the most awkward stage of my life: high school. Thank you for not only being a part of my memories but also by continuing to be my go-to gals whenever we are home. Sending you my utmost love for you this Galentine's Day.

Next, to all my favorite ladies here at school. Even though this is only our first Galentine's Day, I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. After experiencing our GNOS, ice-cream-friendly movie nights, and lunch dates, I am so happy to call you my friends. You have witnessed me at both my highs and lows, but you have never failed to support, help, or listen to me...no matter how late at night it is. Here's to many more great memories, rom-com movie nights, and Bachelor Mondays.

Raising a glass to all the incredible ladies surrounding me, one day is not enough to let you know how amazing you are and how much I appreciate you. So here's to the ladies, Happy Galentine's Day to all, and to all, a lovely night.

With love,

Juliana

P.S. Way to go, Leslie Knope. You have successfully created one of my favorite days of the year.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
