To my grandparents,
I can't thank you enough for being a stable, constant part of my life for the past 21 years. When I think back to my childhood, many of my best memories are visiting the farm and spending time with the whole family.
I wouldn't change our traditions for anything, but let's look past those for a minute. I look up to you and respect you more than I can adequately express. Spending a summer working for you on the farm was one of the best decisions I've ever made because I learned so much from you. I want you to know how much you're appreciated.
Thank you for your generosity. You never miss an opportunity to give a gift and you always put others before yourselves. You're never selfish with your time and money, and I think your life is richer because of that. I remember all the presents you brought for the grandkids on Christmas and celebrating all of our birthdays. Special thanks to Grandma here for all of the good food you bring to every event. You reach out to people outside of our family to make sure they have a place to celebrate the holidays, opening up your home to family and friends. I've learned so much from your example on this. You've shown me what it means to genuinely have a servant's heart.
I'm also unbelievably grateful for your support over the years. Thank you for coming to all my sporting events, piano, and violin recitals when I was younger...even when I wasn't particularly talented. It meant the world to me that you were there and encouraged me to try new things and reach my goals. Even as I'm in a different state for college, you've been an ever-present support system. You know I love to talk and you're always excited to listen to whatever new story I have to tell.
You are two of the hardest working people that I have ever known. I always knew this, but working with you on the farm reaffirmed it. We all know you could easily retire and move to Florida because you've totally earned it, but you'd find more work to do and more people to help. Plus, Grandpa couldn't stay out of work for more than a few years anyway. Thank you for leading by example and instilling a good work ethic in your kids, as well as your grandkids.
Finally, your faith is admirable. You've shown me what it means to rely on God through the good times and the bad. Your prayers mean everything to me and have helped me through difficult times in my life. I'm grateful for the values you instill in your family.
I know we haven't seen eye-to-eye on everything, but you are both truly inspirational. Love you always!
