One hundred and twenty-three. There are only 123 short days until every Auburn fan around the country grabs their shakers, dons that beautiful burnt orange and deep navy blue, and gets their hands up for Bodda Getta.
Only 123 days until white tents cover Auburn's campus, and teachers let class out early on a Friday simply because "tomorrow is game day!". Only 123 days until baby girls in AU cheerleading uniforms run around campus, and the smell of countless burgers and hot dogs drifts through the air on the plains.
Only 123 days until game day dates, sorority pins, and AU face tattoos become common sights around campus. There are just 123 days until the band runs out onto the field and hypes up the entire stadium with their high knees, and seemingly endless energy. 123 days until the entire crowd yells, "BOOM", and some of the most talented athletes in the country rush out to play in our stadium, our Jordan-Hare.
Only 123 days until Nova the golden eagle takes flight over Pat Dye field as the entire crowd watches in awe, followed by the stadium echoing with a hearty "WARRRRR EAGLE, HEY!"
There are just 123 days until every eye will turn to the biggest jumbo-tron in the country, until Aubie enchants every Tiger fan with his wild antics on the field, and we get to watch, as our cheerleaders hoist giant AU flags and run across the end zone.
We only have to wait 123 days to watch our boys in blue and orange dominate whoever is brave enough to challenge our beloved school of tradition and excellence.
Only 123 more days, until Toomer's corner is a flurry of both toilet paper and the rejoicing members of the Auburn family, young and old.
That's all. One hundred and twenty-three short days. And here's some really great news: tomorrow, there will only be one hundred and twenty-two left.
(Note: our first game is actually in Atlanta. Our first home game is onSeptember 12th, 123 days from today).
