Let's Face It, One Direction Isn't Coming Back

Someone had to say it, and it's me.

Tomorrow is the ninth anniversary of when One Direction was first formed by Simon Cowell on the X-Factor UK. I have been in love with One Direction ever since the summer of 2011, a few months before they became famous in the United States.

When the news came out that they will be going on an "18-month hiatus" starting at the end of 2015, saying that I was devastated would be an understatement. I was crushed. I saw them in concert a few months before the "hiatus" began, and I cried during their last song, not just because I knew that the concert was over, but because I had no clue when I would see them live ever again.

At the time that the hiatus was announced, we were told that the band would go on an 18-month hiatus. That means that if they were to go on that break, they would come back around June 2017. Once that month came around, multiple sources said they would be back by 2018. Now, sources are saying that they could be back in 2020, and Louis Tomlinson says that the band getting back together would be "inevitable." But, when would that even happen?

The members promised via Twitter that they would return before the hiatus even began, but when will that promise be fulfilled? I thought that One Direction would come back after the 18-months, but once all of the members began working on their own solo projects, Harry Styles and Niall Horan both announced tours and are working on their second albums, Louis Tomlinson with his album on the way and Liam Payne still releasing singles, I knew that they wouldn't be coming back.

If a One Direction reunion were to happen, I just don't think it would happen in 2020, or even within the next five years. This year marks the band being on an "18-month hiatus" for four years. FOUR YEARS. That's 48 months. Last time I checked, 48 is much greater than 18 by a long shot.

As much as I would love to see a One Direction reunion in the near future, I just don't think that it's going to happen. Despite the band members expressing how they would like to reunite again, they've been saying that for a few years now. Will they keep saying that for another 10 years? For eternity? Only time will tell.

It would be amazing if they did come back, despite what I believe about them not doing so. They still need to do a tour for their fifth album "Made in the A.M.", that they released literally a month before they went on their "break." We were also told that when the band did break up, we would get a "Forever Young" music video that they made when they were still on The X-Factor. We haven't gotten that yet (I don't think the "History" music video counts as a goodbye-type music video), and I don't know if we ever will.

If One Direction decided to fulfill their promise that they made four years ago, then great. I'm looking forward to hearing the people who disagree with me tell me "I told you so." However, until then, I'll be here patiently waiting for them to prove me wrong.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
