The day to day life of a college student is usually a disaster in at least one sense (if not in many or all senses). "One Day At A Time" gives you a glimpse into the daily lives of the members of the Alvarez family. It navigates through a lot of relevant social justice issues in each episode, but it also tackles some smaller-level issues that are applicable to almost anybody's everyday life and interactions. Here is your life in college told by the Alvarez family.
1. When you wake up on good mornings.
Campus better watch out. The queen is en route.
2. When you wake up on bad mornings.
Yeah, I'll take about seven lattes.
3. When you go to the classes you like.
It's nice to be reminded that learning can be fun.
4. When you go to the classes you don't like.
These are the ones that make you consider dropping out at least 12 times in a 90 minute period.
5. Anytime you want to wear something other than sweats.
I have a closet full of clothes, but putting together an outfit that requires more thought than picking up the sweatshirt and sweatpants on the top of the stack - yeah, too much work.
6. When you decide that even though your life is falling apart, you might as well be eating like a queen.
If I'm gonna cry and be stressed, I might as well do it over some eggs.
7. When you decide you should have a dance party to further put off your responsibilities.
*screams* "Out here drippin' in finesse." *not dripping in even an ounce of finesse*
8. When you find yourself needing to do some social media stalking research.
We can all be FBI agents when the occasion calls for it. Gotta keep those receipts.
9. When you need to remind yourself why you're suffering through such rigorous courses in the first place.
I need a degree to get my dream job. I need a degree to get my dream job. I need a degree to get my dream job.
10. When you and your roommate encourage each other's bad eating habits.
"C is for cookie," and yes - that's good enough for me, my roommate, and both of our freshman fifteen's.
