Whether you have twosisters or eight, being the oldest in the group is an important job. From Marcia Brady to DJ Tanner, we're represented by the best of the best. While we may all be different, there are some things that we can all relate to.

1. The age difference seems to shrink

Because let’s be honest: it’s a lot more fun to hang out with your sister when you’re sixteen and she’s thirteen than when you’re three and she’s just a few days old. The older you get, the less the years between you and your sisters matters and the more you can relate to each other.

2. And it’s exciting when you can share clothes and shoes.

Along with the decreasing age difference, there comes a point when your baby sisters start to catch up to you in size. And while it might hurt to know that they could end up taller than you, there’s nothing like knowing that you’ve got a whole other closet right down the hall. But you know better than to borrow something without asking first, or she’ll call you out when she sees the proof on Instagram.

3. There’s never a shortage of shower gel, lotion, or hair products in your house, but there’s somehow never enough bobby pins.

Where do they go? When you’ve got a house full of girls, it’s anyone’s guess.

4. You always hope they’ll like the same things as you did.

And you might have been a tiny bit disappointed when you realized your sisters didn’t like American Girl Dolls as much as you did, but your sisters are their own people and you’re good with that.

5. You can always dump your old stuff in their room.

And when they complain, you can just remind them how generous you’re being. And you know your parents will (usually) back you up.

6. Inside jokes. And lots of them.

With all of the things you guys have experienced together, you’ve racked up enough jokes to get you through that family road trip. You know what each of you is thinking with only a glance, and you know that you guys will have plenty of stories to tell your children someday.

7. You get to be the person they look up to.

You don’t always realize it, but they look to you for a lot of things.

8. And let’s face it, you give pretty good advice.

It’s part of the job description.

9. It always drove you crazy when they copied you.

You thought you were going to lose it if your parents tried to tell you that imitation is the highest form of flattery ONE more time… but eventually, you realized they were right.

10. You can be your crazy self around them.

If anyone other than your sisters knew how crazy you really were, you would have to switch schools. But your sisters won’t judge. Crazy runs in the family, after all!

11. You've always got your people.

You’ve always got your biggest fans right by your side, and you know they’ve got your back.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
