Going to school on a big campus means you're going to run into a lot of unique people with different personalities. You may not always get along with everyone around you, but that also doesn't mean you have to conform. Doing whatever makes you the happiest is an important part of keeping a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, always do what will bring you the most joy, even if everyone around you is doing the complete opposite.

Its okay if you enjoy staying in on a Friday, curled up on the couch with a good book. Or watching your TV shows you missed during the week because of your overload of school work. A lot of the time, I find myself saying no to big Friday night plans because I would honestly rather just stay in and have a girls night in my pajamas. Saturdays are for two things: football and math homework.

By the time evening rolls around, the studying wares you out and it's easier just to stay in. There's nothing wrong with using your weekend to relax a little and catch up on work. Nobody ever said that just because you go to college that you'll have to party and drink, and therefore, you should do you and enjoy your weekend in if that's what makes you happy.

That being said, its also okay to be the girl that enjoys going out. More power to you, if you can party on the weekends and keep up with your academics. You should never feel pressured to stay in because you're scared of what people may think about you. If you're social and love putting yourself out there, then you should.

Even if everyone around you is staying in, and you wanna go out, then you should follow through on what you want, because at the end of the day, who cares what anyone else thinks about you. It doesn't make you a bad person because you wanna have some fun outside of your apartment on a Friday night. The only opinion that matters is your own, so own it.

Everyone says that college is going to be the best four years of your life, so make them the best four years and do whatever makes you happy, no matter what anyone around you is saying.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
