Ohio: The Land Of The Buckeyes, Farmland, And Construction

Ohio's orange signs seem to be increasing rather than decreasing.

Growing up twenty minutes from downtown Columbus construction has always been a part of my daily drive to pretty much everywhere. Instead of my ten-minute drive to my best friends house, school or even the local Kroger, my four ways have become limited to one; and Instead of ten minutes it is now at twenty, and somehow always I get stuck behind a construction truck.

The real question is why there a plethora of roundabouts going in when it takes three months to complete, which takes away another road and honestly let's get real roundabouts are stupid. There's always that one person who stops instead of yielding, or the twenty-five mph speed limit in which, no one goes that actual speed.

Also, why are there multiple roads being closed down at once? Why can't one road be shut down, opened and then the next and so on? It is so exciting knowing that my limitless boundaries of driving are my neighborhood. Oh, the wonders I could explore.

Only thinking that this was a Columbus problem, as it is certainly is. High Street is gleaming with construction, not even just the street but since they're building new apartments it is over flowing to the road and making it a bigger problem than it needs to be. Anyway going to Athens (Ohio) for school my first year wasn't much different. There yet again I got to see the beautiful orange cones and the white signs proclaiming "road closed", and again making my way down to Cincinnati, nothing different.

Maybe it's just an Ohio problem-maybe it's not, but please finish one project before starting the next. My bank account cannot handle it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
