Finals week, how I dread you.
You signify the end
the beginning
Your best friends are fear and anxiety
and bring so much confusion
and frustration
While you come ever closer
the work piles up and overflows
our schedules.
Your arrival is heralded with
many
many
all-nighters
You bring tears of
sadness
joy.
The semester is now over,
but not before that last push.
Not before we all
lose our minds.
Not before we confuse our words,
study like we've never studied before,
write like we've never written.
Oh, Finals Week
you bring the end of a semester
and the beginning of a break.
Every student simultaneously
dreads and welcomes you.
You're only here for a week.
So bring on your fear and frustration.
Bring on the sleepless nights.
Bring on the late night study sessions.
Bring on the challenge.
Once you'e gone
we can breathe again.
Then we know
we can do it again.
