Halloween is the best holiday ever, and no season is better than fall, either. October lands right in the middle of both these wonderful things, and that's what makes it the best month ever. This is coming from somebody who was born in November, so there's no bias here. The winter months are a close second for me, but with October, you get to explore your adventurous side and have a ton of fun that you can't find any other time of the year. Plus, the weather finally cools down to a bearable temperature and you actually want to spend time outside in the breeze.
When else do you have an excuse to gorge yourself on candy until your stomach hurts? The calories don't count while eating candy during this time of year. And the same goes with spooky delicious treats such as spirited brownies, cookies and cakes. Let's also not forget about the pumpkin flavors that flood our favorite coffee shops. Starbuck's Pumpkin Cream Coldbrew? Amazing!
You also get to do so many new fun activities like going to haunted houses, pumpkin patches, hayrides and ghost tours. You really get to explore a different side of the world, as if it is only around this month that you get to see the dark underbelly of the places you inhabit every day.
It is a month where kids and adults alike get to have fun. College students get an excuse to party for a whole week, and children get an excuse to stay up late and get free candy from strangers. Sounds like a win-win situation to me! Plus, we get to dress up and quite literally be whatever or whoever we want!
Not to mention, there are so many classic Halloween movies to indulge in, ranging from spooky to terrifying. There really is something for everyone.
October is so close I can practically taste it—and it tastes like pumpkins and candy corn!
