Republican Leaders Are Obstructing Justice

They are also distracting you

Republican members of Congress are once again trying to derail the Russia investigation. This time they are going after the FBI. They believe there is a secret “anti-Trump” group within the FBI, working to bring down the Trump administration. While Democratic members and a few Republicans, are trying to get to the bottom of what happened between Russia, the Trump Campaign, and the 2016 election, other members are pointing fingers at the Justice Department.

The far-right members believe that the FBI broke the law when they were listening to conversations between Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, and the Kremlin. Note that these conversations included Kislyak bragging about his conversations with soon to be Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Mike Flynn. No, the real crime is that the FBI was doing their job.

Two Republicans in the Senate, Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham, made a criminal referral against Christopher Steele, the British ex-spy who compiled the salacious dossier against Trump and the Campaign. Steele started compiling the dossier for Fusion GPS, a research firm, between June and October of 2016. The dossier states that the Russian government collected some damaging information about Trump and that the Kremlin wanted to assist his campaign, among other things. Seriously just Google search “Christopher Steele Dossier.”

You will probably regret it. Steele then handed all of the information over to the FBI as he was collecting it. The criminal referral basically means they want the FBI to investigate something they are already investigating, and stating that Steele possibly lied to the FBI. They didn’t even talk to other Republicans on the Judiciary Committee, which is where this investigation is currently in the Senate, or Democrats who also sit on this committee. This is just another distraction tactic.

They are doing the dirty work for Trump and his administration. It is hard to pay attention, I know. It’s only almost February, and it feels as though 3 years have passed. Robert Mueller, the special counsel in charge of investigating Trump and his campaign, is signaling that he wants an interview with Donald Trump.

If this happens, and I am praying that it does, that would very well be the end of the investigation. Even he doesn’t trust the Republicans in Congress to handle this. Stephen Bannon, a former advisor to Trump, was testifying before Congress just a couple of weeks ago and wouldn’t answer the question regarding the administration and Trump.

At first, everyone thought it was the White House telling him not to talk, but it was actually Robert Mueller’s team. They do not trust the Republicans with the information that they believe Bannon can provide.

I remember, not even 10 years ago, when the Republican party was the party of “Law and Order.” Trump, on the campaign trail, said, “I’m the ‘Law and Order’ Candidate.” Now they are spending their time trying to cover up one of the biggest criminal hijinks in modern history.

They are busy dismantling and degrading the FBI and the CIA. Midterms, midterms, midterms. We need to vote this year. Democrats, independents, moderate Republicans who are fed up with the way these people are running our country. I’ll see you at the polls. Resist.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
