Never Settle For Less In 2018
Trinity Kubassek

Hello 2018! I don't know if it's just beginning of the year pride talking, but I have such a positive outlook for this year. I know a lot of people always say what they want to happen when a new year starts, hoping that they can get everything they dream of. Usually, it never works out. This time, I feel like we can all definitely get what we want from this year.

A lot of stuff has changed in our lives as a whole within the past 365 days. We've got a new President (whether we like him or not), we've had so many women stand up to say 'Me Too!' or march for equality. The Kardashians have had many scandals, and queen Rihanna released her own makeup.

With all of these new things (and old ones being changed), we have learned that we have the power to grab what we want and make it our own. We have the power to come together and help each other when we're in danger. We have the power to (in reality) do anything and everything we want.

With this, we shouldn't settle for less in 2018. We need to make our community as a whole stronger than ever. One filled with love instead of hate.

I'm betting that a lot of stuff has changed for all of us personally. I know it has for myself. I have found love, came to terms with my self-worth and lived how I wanted.

In 2018, I want to do more. Sitting around during the summer with my friends is fun, but I want to see what's out there. I want to explore abandoned places and wonder why they're no more. I want to laugh at the beach while a seagull takes my fries. I want to do those things now before I can't anymore.

In 2018, I hope to still be happy in love. Dating in this generation is horrendous, and being able to snag someone that actually loves you for who you are is incredibly rare. I found my one, and I hope our laughs, cuddles, and memories will keep up throughout this whole year and beyond.

In 2018, I hope my semesters keep going well. School is incredibly stressful, but that doesn't mean we have to give up when times get hard. Perfect grades aren't always necessary, but you should look at your work and be happy with what you have in front of you.

In 2018, I hope to keep my great friends and even make some more. I hope to not lose touch of myself. You are the most important and you should always remind yourself of that if you start to feel down.

In 2018, I hope to live like there's no tomorrow, love like it's all I have, and laugh like my life depends on it .

Let's try to all be our best this year, and not accept any less.

Here's to you, 2018.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
