Is November Too Soon For Christmas Music? Never!

As soon as November 1st hits, there is no such thing as "too early" for Christmas music!

Is November Too Soon For Christmas Music? Never!

Okay, let me start off by saying that I love Halloween and Thanksgiving just as much as the next person.

I mean, who could possibly turn down free candy or a day full of eating? No one in their right minds! However, when I say that I love Christmas, I mean that I love Christmas.

As soon as it is midnight on November 1st and I am home from all of my Halloween happenings, I immediately turn on Christmas mode. November 1st is the moment that I create my Christmas Spotify playlist and start listening to it nonstop.

Now, I know some of you reading this are about to exit out of my article in anger because you think that it is completelyunacceptable to listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. But, give me a chance to explain myself before you completely disregard the idea.

When I was a little girl, my family would get ready for Thanksgiving dinner by playing Christmas music. It got us in the right mindset and it was quality time that we spent together. Once the fall candle was lit in the kitchen and the Christmas playlist set, we knew that it was Thanksgiving time.

So, it's not that I am completely disregarding Thanksgiving but rather including it in my Christmas celebrations! For me, Thanksgiving is like a pre-Christmas! It's a time for me to spend with my family, just like Christmas. After Thanksgiving dinner, my family always sits in the living room with the fireplace on and some Frank Sinatra Christmas music playing.

So why can't we call it Thanksgivmas music until after Thanksgiving? And, might I add, it is also the perfect time to figure out what your family members want for Christmas.

With all that being said, I understand why some of you might still think that it is way too early to listen to Christmas music. And that is a valid argument because, yes, it is still 2 months until Christmas. But it is never too early to get into the Christmas spirit! Have you noticed that nearly everyone you know is happy around Christmas time? It is such a happy time of the year with the snow falling, time spent with family and friends and, of course, the Christmas music!

So why not start the happy feelings now?

I know for me, listening to Christmas music puts me in a happier mood and improves my day. And while away at college, Christmas music helps to keep me motivated because it reminds me of how close I am to winter break (which means a 6-week break from school!)

For some of us, Christmas is our favorite season and we just can't get enough of it! Don't worry, we're not ignoring Thanksgiving or regarding it as a lesser holiday; we love Thanksgiving just as much as the next person!

But when the temperature starts to drop and the first snowfall looms on the horizon, there is nothing that I love more than putting on my Christmas playlist.

There is something special about the holiday (and the season around it) that just warms my heart. So don't knock listening to Christmas music in November!

The next time your friends are listening to Christmas music during a time you feel is "too soon," don't make fun of them. Just soak in the best season ever!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
