There were countless moments during the weekend that made it unforgettable, but here are the four broadest ways I could categorize the amazingness from the weekend.
1. The Athletes!!!!
This is undoubtedly the first on my list and will be forever. With the athletes, there would be no fall fest, without the athletes, I wouldn't have been able to make so many new friends with so many new passions. I quite simply love every single athlete I met over the weekend, and I genuinely missed every single one when they were gone. They may have only been here for three days, but without them the campus feels empty, and so does my heart :(
2. The Competitions!!!!
Honestly, before Special Olympics, I never knew how hype bocce could be. No matter what competion you went to, soccer, rollerskating, long distance running/walking, power lifting, or volleyball, you could find people with a stronger fire in their heart than I have ever seen. That matched with the excitement in the crowd at every event made these events easily the best sporting events that I had ever seen in my life.
3. The Dancing!!!
Honestly, I've never done so much dancing in my entire life... and it was AWESOME!!!! Whether it was dancing in the quad with all the athletes, dancing on the sidelines of events, or dancing at the victory dance, I did and saw some of the best dancing in my life. My legs have quite frankly never been so sore, but I never felt better. The spirit lines we made to hype up the athletes as they left each day were full of the biggest bops and the sickest moves I've ever seen. Not to mention, the flash mob that we performed as Local Program Hosts made me feel exhilarated to say the least. This leads nicely into number 4.
4. The LPHs!!!!
Walking into the first meeting with 100 new faces was super exciting for somebody like me who loves to meet new people. I never imagined I would become so close with so many new people. Even the LPHs I didn't get to meet or talk to, I know that when I see on campus, there is a cause that unifies us. The relationships I made with the other LPHs are some that I can only hope persist throughout the rest of my time at Villanova. To all my LPHs, I love you all so much, and thank you the major impact you made on Fall Fest, the athletes, and myself. <3
