Guys, you did it. You won the College Football National Championship. ( I smiled typing that because it's still so crazy.) I know it's unbelievable for you guys but for the fans, it's just indescribable. It's something we have been waiting on for so long, just as you all have and oh what a celebration it was!
I'm certain you realize just how big this is and what an incredible journey you all have been on to get where you are today.
From the very first game against Auburn to the very last second of the Natty, you've fought. You fought to win. Blood, sweat, and lots of tears. ( Trust me, we all cried at the ending of the game.) You did it.
Whether you sat on the sidelines all year or played in every game, YOU ARE A CHAMPION. I don't care if you're a walk on or a 5 star recruit, you, my friend, are a champion. A national champion, that is. You should be so proud.
For me this National Championship was special. I got to watch someone I went to school with win a National Championship and that was amazing. Seeing someone you attended school with and watched play on Friday nights, win a National Championship is something words can't describe. Kendall, keep shining! The Belton and Honea Path communities love and support you!
As you rode the bus home to Clemson and drove over the hill to see thousands of fans waiting to greet you, I know you were emotional. Don't ever doubt how much you are loved by every single person that was there and even those that weren't. Clemson Nation is behind you and we support every single one of you.
Seniors, you will definitely be missed at Clemson but don't ever stop chasing your dreams. The NFL is getting the best. No matter where you get drafted, you are there on purpose, for a purpose. God's got you, friend!
As a fan, I rejoice with you in such an emotional win. 35 years later, that trophy is back home where it belongs. Dang, that's crazy.
I know you won't forget the last second of the Natty when Deshaun Watson threw the football and it soared into Hunter Renfrow's hands for the most exciting touchdown, ever. That moment was priceless and something nobody will ever forget.
So, when you're at Clemson and you see the trophy, thank God for giving you this opportunity and remember the moment and as Dabo said,"the best is yet to come!" Don't let your light burn out!
GO TIGERS, always!
Love,
A Clemson Girl who bleeds ORANGE
