An Open ILY Letter To My BFF

Some days I believe you're more of a sister, more like a counselor, and secretly the third person in my relationship.

Reminiscing on all of my memories, there you are right next to me during them all. Some days I believe you're more of a sister, more like a counselor and secretly the third person in my relationship.

Friends come and go, most friends go through phases where you're closer than ever and then slowly drift apart. Whether it be a summer break at home reconnecting then falling apart with a close old friend, a high school best friend depending on the sport or club season that is going on, or a falling out that changes a friendship's dynamic. However there is always the friend, despite all of the circumstances, that is by your side all of the time, no matter what.

As I look back I was, too, one of the girls that drifted from "best friend" to "best friend" but none of those friendships could overlook my forever best friend. With you, there is never any worries about the friendship being one-sided. I never worry about you talking behind my back or giving away my secret. Since middle school, you've been there and never once left my side, for that I am forever thankful.

Throughout high school, we became inseparable. Never going a day without seeing or talking to each other and constantly knowing what was going on each other's lives. That all changed the day you moved an hour and a half away. We went from talking daily to hopefully a couple times a week if our schedules lined up correctly.

A strong friendship doesn’t need daily conversation; doesn’t always need togetherness. As long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part.

For some friendships, the distance and busy schedules would have been a breaking point, but not for us. You have been the one who never left my side when things got hard. Through every heartbreak, every fight with a sibling or parent, every time we wanted to drop out of school, we never left each other's side, and for that, I am forever thankful. I cannot thank you enough for being there for all of my highest points, wiping every tear, talking me into taking chances (and talking me out of the bad ones), you were brutally honest when I needed it and were there to tell me everything was going to be okay when I didn't listen to you. You have always helped give me the strength that I needed when I couldn't find it within myself.

Every day I miss you and miss living down the street and going to the same school. I will forever cherish all of the memories that we have made together. I will never be able to thank you enough for all that you have ever done and for being the best, best friend that I could ever ask for.

I love you, BFF

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
