A Love Note To Coffee

You are loved.

A Love Note To Coffee
Bright and Early Coffee and Tea

Coffee is truly an underappreciated beverage and it's time to show it all the love it deserves. This one's for you, Coffee.

Dear Coffee,

I love you. Is that too forward?

If it is I apologize but you are just so lovable. Your delectable and variably bitter flavor is absurdly satisfactory to my taste buds and I find myself craving you daily. You could call it an addiction but I prefer to think of it as a profound appreciation.

Not only is your flavor enjoyable but your possession of caffeine always comes in handy. A cup in the morning and I have just the right jump-start to get my day going. During a late night in the library, you never fail to keep me motivated in getting my work done.

You, Coffee, are so valuable to me.

Aside from being an essential motivational tool, you are also an instigator of socialization. Meeting for coffee is such an easy way to spend some (usually much needed) time with friends.

Also, how perfect is grabbing coffee together for a first date?

It doesn’t take much time to order and drink a coffee beverage so if the date is going sour at least I don’t have to sit there for very long. You’re not only perfect for a first date but you’re great as a simple date for a busy couple as well.

Since you are not overly time-consuming, you make it easy to spend some quality time together. In addition to your time efficiency you are also budget-friendly and as a broke, college student I appreciate this more than you know.

Finally, I want to mention how much I love your variety.

There are so many different ways to enjoy you that I feel it's impossible to experience them all. You can be hot, iced, blended, strong, weak, taken with cream, black, sweet, spiced or bitter and all versions are equally enjoyable.

Depending on my mood or taste preference I could drink a different version of you every day and I will never become bored with you. I value this, Coffee, because as a student I frequently use you as a pick-me-up and if you were an energy drink, I’m sure I would quickly tire of you. Thank you for not being boring.

Coffee, I just had to tell you how much you mean to me.

As a former coffee hater, I feel so fortunate to have developed a love for your distinct flavor and caffeine content. You have helped me survive so many late nights studying and double as many days after sleep-deprived nights. You are just as delicious as you are helpful and you are too often thoughtlessly overlooked.

So, here’s to you, Coffee. You rock and I love you.

Love Always,

An Appreciative Coffee Lover

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
