Dear Future Husband,

I don’t know who you are yet. I have an idea of the kind of guy I would like you to be like, but in this life, there are no guarantees.

Before you promise to love me for a lifetime, there are a few things you should know.

There are going to be times when loving me isn’t easy. I’m sorry in advance. There will be days when I will be crabby and I will likely take it out on you. There will be times I will try and pick fights over the silliest things. I will always believe I am right and I will not stop until you admit that you are wrong. Just learn early on to agree with me and move on.

Just remember that I still love you.

There will be times that I am sad. This could last minutes or days, who knows. There might not even always be reason for my sadness. I am asking you to still be there for me. Be patient with me. I need you to pick me back up and make me feel better. I guarantee even just a hug from you can do wonders. You are my rock. I need you.

Just remember you still have my heart.

But there are going to be so many more good times. I cannot wait for our entire lives together. I can’t wait to smile thinking about the little things you do to show you love me like put your hand on my knee while you drive and kiss my forehead. I can’t wait to wake up every morning next to you. I can’t wait to raise our kids together. I can’t wait to have dinner waiting for you when you get home from a long day at work.

Always remember I will do anything for you.

I hope you are just as excited as I am to adopt our first puppy (key word first, there will be many). I hope you will still watch chick flicks with me when we are old and bored. I hope you never stop looking at me the way you did when we first met. I hope I still give you butterflies the same way you will always give me goosebumps.

Please remember I will always be crazy about you.

You should also know my favorite food is mac and cheese, I love to sleep in and take naps, and puppies (or anything cute really) make me cry. If I am mad at you, it can almost always be fixed with a chocolate milkshake or some cheese fries. But I promise you will learn those things on your own. Oh yeah, and make sure you get on my dad’s good side. That will make things a lot easier for both of us.

Thank you for everything you have done for me already. Thank you for putting up with me long enough that we could get to this point. I know I am not perfect. I know I have a history. But you kept your faith in me all along. You still saw something in me that was worth loving and you never let go, even at my worst. Thank you. I promise to be the best wife for you that you could ever wish for.

Love you most,

Your future wife

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
