With only a few weeks left of summer, I can't help but feel overcome with a bittersweet sensation. I am entering my senior year of college. My final year. I can't wait for the semester to start, but at the same time I am dreading the fact that I know the year will fly by and I will be walking down the isle in my cap and gown awaiting what the future holds and who knows what that will be. The uneasiness of the unknown future is why I want to make this last year of college the best one yet.
As I look back over the last three years of my college career, there are so many things to be thankful for. I have made some of the best friends that I could have ever hoped for and have memories that will last me a lifetime. There have been many ups and downs in my college career, but as I enter my senior year of college, there are some things that I have to remind myself: To let loose and have fun.
1. Go out on the weekends
In the past, staying in and watching Netflix sounded like a much better idea than going out, but not this year. This year I will go out with my friends and have fun. Even if I am not feeling like it, I will force myself to go because how many more chances will I get to go out with my best friends once school is over? This may be the last chance to be with all of our friends in one place and have a good time.
2. Spend time with your girls
Spending time with your best friends is important because we have no idea where we are going to be in the future. Who knows who will be moving where after school is out. So make time to sit around, chat, gossip, and have a movie night. There might not be another time when we are all living together again. And we will miss the days of walking down the hall to ask someone for advice or someone to just sit and watch TV with.
3. Don't Stress
The last three years have been about school and the stress levels have been high, but not this year. This is the time to enjoy yourself. That doesn't mean that you get to slack off, but you shouldn't be putting so much pressure on yourself. Try to manage your time better and with that, and the right mindset, you should be good to go. Also, try to remind yourself that stressing doesn't really help and in the end everything turns out alright.
Senior year is supposed to be the best year of your life and that's the way it should be. This is the last year to let go and have fun. You have the rest of your life ahead of you to stay in and watch a movie. Go out and make memories that will last a lifetime.
