On Saturday night, I was able to attend Oakland's annual Not So Silent Night. Night two's lineup consisted of The Killers, Weezer, Foster The People, Walk The Moon, and Alice Merton.
The Killers
The Killers were the headliners of Night 2 at Not So Silent Night performing 16 songs. The band performed The Man and Run For Coverfrom their new album, Wonderful Wonderful. Not only did they dress classily and have an incredible stage, their performance was indescribable. The people of the Bay Area were jumping, singing, and dancing to every song, new and old. Brandon Flowers dressed to a tee and sang each song with such passion, while his band played with an incredible amount of energy. They did a great job of organizing their setlist as they played their famous Joy Division cover, Shadowplay, their new material, and old classics like Mr. Brightside and When You Were Young.
Weezer
Once Weezer came on stage, the crowd was ecstatic. The band opened up with their hit song, Say It Ain't So. Weezer performed a total of nine songs including two songs from their new
Foster The People
Foster The People performed a short set of seven songs in which they used to promote their new album, Sacred Hearts Club. The band performed four new songs including Sit Next To Me and Lotus Eater. Foster The People also included a cover of the Ramones songBlitzkreig Bop. The crowd was very into the new songs and old classics like Pumped Up Kicks andDon't Stop (Color On the Walls). The crowd especially enjoyed singer, Mark Foster's iconic dancing. With the short amount of time the band performed, they killed it!
Walk The Moon
Walk The Moon played five songs at this years Not So Silent Night. Three of the five songs performed were from their new album, What If Nothing. The crowd reacted very well to their new material, especially One Foot. They played with a lot of energy while the crowd danced and sang along. Walk The Moon ended their show with their first hit, Anna Sun.
Alice Merton
The first act of the night was Alice Merton. Merton and her band just released a new EP, No Roots No Roots in early 2017. The band performed four songs for their set at Not So Silent Night. Even with their short set, the band seemed to be very appreciative of the time and exposure they received.
Not So Silent Night 2017
My overall review on Night 2 of Not So Silent Night was an A+. As I have gone to Not So Silent Night in the past, I would recommend going as the sound system and lineups are amazing!
