Best-selling UK London-based poet, Nikitia Gill, explains the significance of what it truly means to look past being beautiful.

"Don't be beautiful. They keep saying that beautiful is something that a girl needs to be. But honestly? Forget that. Don't be beautiful. Be angry, be intelligent, be witty, be klutzy, be interesting, be funny, be adventurous, be crazy, be talented- there are an eternity of other things to be other than beautiful. And what is beautiful anyway but a set of letters strung together to make a word? Be your own definition of amazing, always. That is so much more important than anything beautiful, ever."

We are often portrayed as the weaker gender, but that's just not the truth. Society has a disgusting habit of using girls in a sexual manor to become "more successful" in advertising. Girls have so many irreplaceable qualities that go way deeper than our physical appearance. Sure we like to dress up once in a while, but we usually do it to establish confidence within ourselves, not as a walking trophy for others to own.

When an individual can recognize a woman's authenticity, then he or she will have the opportunity to see how exclusive she really is compared to everyone else. When someone falls in love with her, they should fall in love with all of her. Just like a puzzle, you need all of the pieces to complete a picture, so why would anyone choose to ignore the ones that make her complete? Strong girls will guard their hearts and use caution when it comes to trusting someone

She is made for a greater purpose than just to look pretty. She will be a complicated vessel full of compassion, love, intelligence, and kindness. However, she is also capable of being stubborn, angry and relentless. She will not hang out in the shallow end, just like the ocean there are many depths to her heart, mind and soul. She is both stunning and powerful at the same time. Women are capable of loving someone when someone can fall in love with not only her smile, but also her scars and wounds.

A girl with a confident mind, heart and soul will be invincible to the world. So whether you are: an artist, a chef, an athlete, a musician, a reader, a writer, a listener, a talker, a mother, daughter, sister, or best friend; the most imperative component of a woman is to be as kind as possible and support one another. Yes, we are beautiful, but our beauty goes so much deeper than what is seen on the cover of a magazine.
