Don’t Regret Rushing Through Life

As I take a look back at my college years, we all wanted the years to fly by. Now, that it has come close to the finish line, it makes you question, what is all of the rush about? We work hard in school to rush to get out of college in order to be able to keep up with the next plan for our future, but in reality, what do we really have planned?

We graduate early so we can start working at a job that we do not completely love. We rush to get married because we think that is the right thing to do. We rush to have children because we think that is what the next step is. But, if you pause what is the "right" step to take?

I am 22 years old in my final semesters of college. I could lie to you and say that I have my life all planned out and I know exactly what I want to do. I do have a plan but will that plan be truly met? Being in college has taught me that it is okay to slow down. It is okay to not know exactly the path you want to take.

Social Media is the Ultimate Killer Cell Phone

You scroll through social media and you can't help but compare yourself with others. I sit at home alone and watch Netflix, while others are cooking dinner for their spouse, I am still going out on Thursday nights while others are staying home watching their kids. Again, I raise the question, what is the rush about?

It is an awesome feeling to be completely ready for those things, but at 22 years old I am still figuring myself out. People are known to say, "college is the best four years of your life" (In my case five.) I had to accept that it is was okay that I would not be graduating right on time as planned. It made me realize that I had a plan, but it did not go accordingly and I am 100% okay with that. But, if you take a step back just remember there's no rush in life. When it is your time, it will be your time.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
