I must confess, I drafted this beauty a few moons ago, on one particularly unproductive day. This was back in the day when I actually had more time to procrastinate. Not to say that the urge to procrastinate actually goes away when you have less time to do things (actually, that's when procrastination seems to hit you the hardest…)
Nevertheless, as if you actually needed any additional methods of extending your break just 15 minutes longer, other than watching Netflix, here's a few less-common alternatives that I have enjoyed in the past.
There are many articles out there on how to get your life together. This is not one of them. Put off that paper about 5 more minutes and enjoy.
1. Do the dishes.
The dishes will just pile up for days unless I actually have something better I should be doing for school.
2. Perfect your planner to a T.
Time to use 50 colors to write all the things I'm not going to do today.
3. Make yourself as clean as physically possible.
This seems like a good time for a full manicure and pedicure, right?
4. Rearrange the furniture.
It will be so much easier to focus on my work once this sofa is on the other side of the room.
5. Clean the screens of all your devices.
One cannot possibly concentrate if there are fingerprints on the screen.
6. Sleep.
I'm obviously behind in my sleep, just a short 15 - 75-minute power nap will do the trick.
7. Attempt to do your homework under a blanket but really just sleep some more.
There is really no reason to freeze to death while doing your homework.
8. Look up nutrition facts.
No one really enjoys finding out how many calories are in your favorite milkshake… unless you have four study guides to do. Then, this seems like the better option.
9. Research jobs you're not yet qualified for.
It's just preparing for my future (and ignoring the present…) If I have a tab for my homework open, that still counts, right?
10. Write an article about procrastination.
Everybody needs a little "me" time, right after their previous "me" time.
11. Sit and wonder where the day went.
I don't understand, I only had one class today. Where did I go wrong? Oh…
