After the season finale of The Bachelor which extended from a three hour supposed finale to adding an extra night's two hour-worth along with the announcement of the next Bachelorette. If you have been living under a rock you may need a recap of what happened on the finale of this season. Here's what went down; Arie was stuck between blonde conservative, Lauren and brunette confident Becca. After meeting having the girls meet his family he still struggles between choosing the two. After a night of contemplation he proposes to Becca and escorts Lauren to her ride of rejection.
However, this is not the fairy-tale ending we were expecting! Surprise! We have unedited new footage that is going to flip things around for what we thought was going to be a picture perfect ending. Arie apparently has not been able to stop thinking about Lauren and has been in contact with her. He decides to break off the engagement with Becca after a period of being together to better his chances with Lauren! Arie dramatically tells her the news with cameramen at the ready and then refuses to leave the premises after she repeatedly tells him to leave so she can cry in peace.
Returning to Lauren, Arie is welcomed literally with open arms as she runs to embrace him literally as she opens the door to her home. They are now together and single Becca is announced to be the next Bachelorette.
So why are people so disappointed in our main male lead this season? Let's do a quick summary; Arie basically had to confirm with Lauren first that they would get back together and rumoredly were planning the wedding before he even dumped finance Becca. Almost making the entire things look like like he wouldn't have dumped Becca if Lauren had rejected his proposal.
He then calls the host of the show to tell him the news and seek advice before bringing a camera crew to deliver the blow to Becca. Admitedly, this brings evidence of the situation that you broke up with her directly but it was also evidence you did not break up with her the right way. Obviously devastated by the news, Becca wanders around the house crying and asking Arie to leave while Arie clearly not taking the hint, follows her around.
So what have we learned here? If you are not sure of who you are proposing to, don't propose to them. If you are breaking up with someone do not make confirmations to hook up with someone else as your rebound before dumping the other person. Finally, if you are asked to leave by someone after you all break up, do not follow them around the house like a lost puppy.
What will happen if you do these things, especially on camera? Much like this season's Bachelor Arie you will be publicly mocked on social media and advised by other former Bachelors to leave the country. Choose wisely.
