Every year, we always wonder what we're going to get for Christmas. This is an aspect that can cause us to overlook the real meaning of Christmas. As we know, it's not only about getting gifts, it's about the birth of our Lord. The aspect of getting and receiving gifts is meant to remind us of how the three wise men brought gifts for Jesus when he was born. The idea of togetherness also brings to mind the image of Joseph, Mary and Jesus in the manger from the nativity scene.
This year, we have the idea that rather than worrying about getting new gifts, we're going to celebrate with all the gifts we've gotten in the past. We've taken out all of our old toys and we're going to spend the day hanging out and playing with all those toys. This was an idea that came to us, mainly because we actually have gifts that are still brand new, so rather than worrying about more new stuff, we'll finally open those toys and have one big nostalgic day instead.
When this time of year comes around, we can sometimes overlook just spending time together on the holiday, for material things. We can get caught up in the shopping season, but all the moments in between are how memories are made. However, when the gift unwrapping is over, there's will always be the little moments that become memories that last forever. It's really about just appreciating being together on the holiday, and finally having some time to relax.
Since we'll have the time, relax and have an amazing holiday season everyone!!
