In This Article:

'Tis the season to be spooky.

Being a non-horror fan is something that I can't personally relate to but many people that I am close to hate horror so I have learned to be creative in my choices of scary movies to keep my people entertained.

Here are some Halloween movies that your non-horror friend can thoroughly enjoy and so can you!

1. Warm Bodies (2013)

Giphy

I remember watching this movie and laughing the whole time. And obviously finding Nicholas Hoult really attractive as a zombie.

2. What We do in the Shadows (2014)

Giphy

All you need to know about this film is that it is pure gold and it's a comedic vampire tale. Plus Taika Waititi is in it and he also directed it. If that name does not ring a bell, he directed Thor Ragnarok (arguably the best Thor film ever). So, this film? A must watch.

3. Monster House (2006)

Giphy

If you choose to watch one movie from this whole list? Let it be Monster House.

Yes, it's that good.

4. The Nightmare before Christmas (1993)

Giphy

A movie that has both Christmas and Halloween? What's not to love. Also, as you can see, I love animated movies so get ready for more.

5. Vampires Suck (2010)

Giphy

A hilarious parody of Twilight, this film is so self aware of how bad it is and that's what makes it so entertaining to watch. Highly recommend if you want to think about how ridiculous teenage books are.

6. Ghostbusters (2016)

Giphy

In this remake of the classic supernatural comedy, paranormal enthusiasts try and stop an otherworldly threat. It is highly entertaining and fun to watch.

7. Zombieland (2009)

Giphy

I may be biased because I love Jesse Eisenberg but this movie was amazing. As the name suggests, it's about zombies. There is a sequel that just came out called Zombieland: Double Tap which I still need to see.

8. The Addams Family (1991)

A classic and for good reason. The family has had a profound influence on American comics, cinema, and television, and has been seen as an inspiration for the Goth subculture and its fashion. It is remade as an animation film with the same name that just came out this year so I gotta check that one out and see if it is as good as the original.

9. Hotel Transylvania (2012)

Giphy

One of my go-to animated movies, Hotel Transylvania is a cute comedy. The film tells a story of Count Dracula, the owner of a hotel called Hotel Transylvania where the world's monsters can take a rest from human civilization.

As all things with Count Dracula, it is an entertaining watch.

10. Casper (1995)

Giphy

Definitely an iconic film, Casper takes me back to my childhood for it was the film that made me unafraid of ghosts as a small kid.

11. Coraline (2009)

Giphy

Coraline is my favorite kind of animation movie - stop motion. This one has it all: fantasy, horror, thriller, dark humor. What are you waiting for?

12. Corpse Bride (2005)

I can't believe someone could accidentally marry a corpse but here is the movie for it.

It's great, go watch it.

13. Halloweentown (1998)

A family movie about Halloween that is more about the nostalgia of watching it instead of the actual plot but still, it's a Halloween movie to watch.

For those of you who are easily frightened by all kinds of horror movies, finding a film you'll enjoy is a difficult and arduous task—which is why I did the work for you.

Now go forth and enjoy your Halloween!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
