Just because I totally stink at wrapping presents, that doesn't mean I'm not trying my best!
Growing up my father would wrap all of the presents for holidays and birthdays because it was something he liked to do. However, because he always wrapped everything, I never learned how. Oops.
My aunt had tried multiple times to teach me how to wrap presents but it just never really stuck with me. It just doesn't make sense! Why would something that was just going to be torn apart, need to be perfectly and geometrically all wrapped up? It's just paper!
It doesn't help that I almost failed geometry in high school, so yeah maybe I don't really understand how angles work, but that isn't the point! I'm just trying my best! It should be the present that matters, not the Santa covered paper that is concealing it from view!
Sometimes I opt for bags because I'm a wizard with tissue paper, but that's not such a glowing endorsement. I think that there needs to be less pressure on how well I'm wrapping up a box with a bow, and more on if I was able to find something that you will love to use.
I become super embarrassed when a gift giving occasion arrives because I know someone is going to tease me because I don't quite understand how to fold the perfect triangle. I'm just trying my best!
Maybe it might be nice to live in a world where I can hand you your presents in the shopping bag, because I do understand the element of surprise, but I'm sorry I can't wrap presents! I care about you! Not paper!!!!
