I'm The Girl In Norts In Your 8 A.M., But The Woman Of Your Dreams At 8 P.M.

Who says I can't wear Norts during the day and jeans out at night?

There is no bigger struggle than waking up in the morning before class and figuring out what to wear. My morning routine begins with checking the weather app on my phone to see if it will rain or just be incredibly hot out. Scrolling down to the bottom of the app I read the part that says "feels like" and it said 92 degrees.

Freshman year of college I would wake up early and figure out what I was going to wear to class. I would rummage through my drawers pull out a pair of jean shorts and pull a V-neck out of the huge pile I had and would run out of my dorm to class.

I could not tell you the last time I even considered wearing jeans outside of my apartment. Opening my blinds in the morning these days and seeing the sun reflect on the pool at my apartment only makes me want to lay outside by the pool and get my tan on. With my busy schedule, I knew I would have to rain check my tanning time.

Instead, I scrambled through my drawer found a black pair of Nike shorts and threw on my Greek Week T-shirt and sneakers and headed out for my day. I had never heard the word "Norts" before coming to Alabama. I remember the first day I saw that word. I was in a Facebook group for sorority recruitment and girls were commenting how they would be wearing "Norts" and a T-shirt to Convocation.

Wearing Nike shorts to class makes life easy. Getting an abundant amount of workout shorts and leggings over breaks especially when there are sales at your favorite stores makes it well worth it.

Nike shorts are baggy and comfortable especially when it is super hot here in Tuscaloosa. Don't get me wrong I am a native Floridian and my Norts habit has followed me back home as well.

There is always talk about whether or not a girl is putting effort into her outfit if she just throws on workout clothes. I don't disagree, but when it is early in the morning and the last thing you want to do is figure out what to wear this helps you stay comfy all day.

Now you are in the predicament of what to wear when you go out to dinner with friends. Do you leave your Nike shorts on from your busy day on campus or do you go home and change? Well, that is an easy answer for me.

The minute I am done on campus and running errands I go home shower and put on something nicer.

I enjoy being comfy but looking in my closet before going out at night and seeing all the other options I have other than workout clothes makes me realize that there is always a time and place for those outfits.

This does not mean business casual or something professional, but something more along the lines of what you would wear out to a casual meal. My go-to is normally a pair of leggings and a nice shirt. I try to stay away from my Comfort Colors at night unless I have plans with Netflix.

I am definitely not telling you to get rid of those jean shorts that you love wearing to darties or even back at home on a sunny day, but give Nike shorts a shot I promise they will not let you down.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
