Your Night Out as Told by Stranger Things

I'm sure we've all had a few STRANGE nights out.

Getting invited to the party

Realizing it's time to start getting ready

Scrambling to eat a good meal before you consume any alcohol

Realizing you don't have any alcohol for the night

And that you have nothing to wear

When you're feeling yourself after one glass of wine

Pregaming with the squad

Promising your friends you won't let them get too drunk...

But ultimately realizing that there's no way that's going to happen

Arriving to the party

That awkward moment when everyone is saying hi to your friends, but you're just alone in a corner like

Seeing your crush walk in looking fine AF

That one guy who thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread

When the host brought out the party lights, big speakers and the fog machine

Trying to flirt with someone without looking like a total idiot

Realizing that you looked like a total idiot

When the party is still small and you're forced to make small talk until it becomes a rager

When your friend tries to cut you off

When someone hits on you, but you're in a relationship

When they turn on your jam

When someone calls you a freshman, but you're not

Raiding the host's fridge

When a fight breaks out

When someone says they can out-drink you

When your mom tries to call you, but the music is blaring, so you have to repeat every sentence like three time

When freshman walk in

Trying to avoid that weird kid from your stats class

When there are 10 girls in the bathroom and you've been waiting for about a half hour to pee

When there's no toilet paper in the bathroom

Having to deal with that one friend who worries about everything

Watching with pride as your awkward friend talks to another human

When you're on a new level

When your friend is being a downer

When anyone starts being mean to your friend

When your stomach tells you that you have to throw up

When your friend leaves with their significant other

Watching the freshman when the cops come

When you haven't eaten all night

Waking up and trying to figure out how you got home last night

Looking at all the drunk texts you sent

And all the damage you did to your house

Contemplating all the mistakes you made last night and mentally preparing yourself to repeat them again tonight

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
