Becoming an aunt has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. Being the baby of the family didn't allow me to have a little sibling to look up to me. However, you all have filled the spot for me. It is because of you all that I want to be the very best version of myself. Here are five of the very most important things I want you all to know.
1. I will be your secret keeper.
While you all are just kids, I want you to know that no matter what it is, you can confide in me. I will be your shoulder to cry on, your listening ear, the voice of reason when you need it and your secret keeper. With me, you will always have a person you can go to.
2. You will always have a second home.
I am still in college, so this isn't as relevant yet, but I want you to know that if you ever need a place to go, my door is always open. I intend on having my own ranch, and it will be named Aunt Maggi's. Each of you will have your own space there where you are always welcome.
3. I want to thank you for keeping me young.
Moving away to college makes coming home pretty special. It's even better when I get to spend time with you. Your sweet smiles and belly-aching laughter keep me young at heart and help me to lighten up.
4. Thank you for loving me unconditionally.
I have bad days sometimes. However, no matter what is going on, to hear how excited you are to see me or talk to me on the phone can always make me feel better. You love me for me, no matter what.
5. Please stay true to yourself.
I can't stress this enough. You have hearts of gold. You're sweet, sassy, smart, and everything about you all is so pure. Don't let this world change you. You are going to face hardships and challenges; don't let that change you for the worst.
I hope that maybe one day you all will find this article and read it.
I hope that you all realize just how much you truly mean to me.
I love you all with all of my heart, and while I hope you are able to learn things from me, I also want you to know that I have learned so much from you.
Being your aunt is one of the biggest blessings in my life.
