"What are your New Years resolutions?" is a question that everyone is getting asked this time of year. We are all familiar with this question and can usually guess what their answer(s) will be. The most popular ones we hear are: losing weight, eating healthier, spending more time with family, focusing more on oneself/work, and being more positive. I want to know why we think that we will do better in following through with "resolutions" just because it is a new year, do we think that the new year will bring us good luck and that's why we make them or is it because of it being a "fresh start?"
I'm here to tell you to stop waiting until the new year, or even a new month to start doing something. The perfect time is NOW. Each day you wake up is a fresh start, don't be afraid to take advantage of it. There is no better time then now to start losing weight, or eating healthier, or spending more time with family, or whatever it is that you want to do because you never know what may happen tomorrow. If you start doing something the moment you have the motivation to rather than waiting until the new year to do it, chances are you are going to be able to stick with it because you didn't let the motivation you had slip away.
I'll leave you with this quote from Billy Cox, "The difference between a dream and wishful thinking is what you do today." So, don't wait until the new year to start working towards what you want to accomplish, don't be afraid to try new things and make sure you always, always, always....live in the moment.
