Ah, the new year is approaching. We all know what that means! It's time for New Year's resolutions! But why do we have to have just one? We usually don't go through with the first one, anyways. Having a few more as a back up will ensure that you'll go through at least one of them.

1. To have more patience.

I am particularly very impatient when it comes to about, well, everything. I like to get things done as quickly as possible and in the right way of course. I know that I can't rush perfection, so in 2018, I hope to act less impulsively and just go with the flow of life.

2. To worry about the little things less.

I am a constant worrier. It doesn't matter what the situation is, I will always find something to worry about. In 2018, I hope to take on yoga again and get back in my meditation zone. Creating a healthy mind and lifestyle will create a stress-free and worry-free environment.

3. Go on a vacation.

A vacation has been way overdue. Now that I will be turning 21 this year, I hope to see the world a little more. After all, you're only 21 once. It doesn't have to be out of the country, cause ya girl is broke. I want to make 2018 a year of adventure. The best way for me to do that is to start with some sort of vacation.

4. To step out of my comfort zone.

I usually a girl with a plan. I like to stick that plan and make sure nothing changes it. This year, I'd like to see where life takes me if a plan I had taken a different route. Life has a funny way of working things out, and if a change is what I need to step out of my comfort zone, then bring it on.

5. Do what's best for me.

Since I constantly worry about everything, that means I am constantly worrying about everyone. I would really like to stop worrying about what everyone thinks or cares about, and focus on what I care about for myself. Focusing on myself will create more positivity in my life and add more confidence as well.

6. Find happiness.

Whether this is a significant other or a lifestyle change, I hope that I find true happiness in the year of 2018. I always wonder what the new year will hold, but by making some lifestyle changes I can look forward to 2018 and see a bright year ahead.

7. Get rid of negative people.

We all deal with negative people in our lives, but a person can only take so much. This year, I intend to surround myself with only positive people. I want to keep the negativity in the past and move on from it. Getting rid of negative people will give me a better mindset and send positive vibes all around me.

Coming up with more than one New Year's resolution might just be better than making one. This way, when it comes to the end of the year, you can look back and say that you at leas did one thing you wanted to do for 2018.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
