New Year's Resolutions, According To Your Zodiac Sign

Are you having a hard time figuring something realistic to give up for 2016? Yes, we may be a few days into the New Year already, but it's never too late to start a resolution. Here's a list of what you should give up, according to your zodiac sign!

Aquarius: January 20 - February 18

Independent is something that most Aquarius signs tend to be. If, in 2015, you tended to go out to eat by yourself more than you did with others, then maybe in 2016 you should focus on being more in touch with the people around you. For your resolution, try to express your emotions more, and be less aloof from the people that you care about the most.

Pisces: February 19 - March 20

As a Pisces in 2015, you may have found yourself in situations where you felt taken advantage of, because you're a naturally trusting, yet quiet, sign. As a sign that is also extremely intelligent but keeps that part of themselves internal, make it your resolution in 2016 to try to promote yourself more, be less modest, and be more outspoken. It will help let people know that you really aren't that gullible!

Aries: March 2 - April 19

In 2015, as an Aries, you may have found yourself knee deep in an argument where you're trying to convince a friend, family member, or maybe even co-worker, that chunky peanut butter is obviously, undeniably, 100% better than creamy peanut butter. Because you're a sign that's known for being so determined, it's safe to say that you probably won that argument, but the energy it took to prove your point may not have been worth it. In 2016, make it your resolution to try to limit your silly arguments, and only prove the points that really need proving!

Taurus: April 20 - May 20

For the Bull, it's obvious that 2015 was full of fun, happiness, and success... along with arguments that had some really bitter endings. As a Taurus, in 2016 you should make it your resolution try to be more understanding and, if at all possible, a tiny bit less stubborn!

Gemini: May 21 - June 20

For most Geminis, it's very likely that last year you misplaced an important document, forgot to make a credit card payment, or even lost the keys to your car, and none of those situations left you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Limiting some of these maddening experiences would make for a happier, healthier, more successful Gemini. For 2016, make it your resolution to find an organizational strategy that actually works for you, and stick to it!

Cancer: June 21 - July 22

Although one of the best strengths of a Cancer is that most have a natural connections to their emotions, this can also be something that does hold this sign back. If you found yourself constantly going through old photos, thinking about an ex, or holding grudges in 2015, then you're actually letting one of your greatest strengths get in your way! In 2016, make it your resolution to try to let go of things from the past to which you're holding on.

Leo: July 23 - August 22

In 2015, the typical Leo may have experienced someone calling them "bossy," and to the natural born leaders that most Capricorns are, this can be a very offensive statement. We all know that's not really what you want to be known as, so in 2016, make it your resolution to try to come off as more of a leader and less of a boss!

Virgo: August 23 - September 22

Beating yourself up for not getting the grade you wanted, or finishing the project for work on time, sounds like something the typical Virgo could have experienced during 2015. As a sign that prides themselves on hard work and success, situations where they or others fall short can be the ultimate disappointment. But the reality is that mistakes happen, and nothing is always perfect. Virgos, for 2016, make it your resolution to try to be less critical of yourself and of others.

Libra: September 23 - October 22

As a zodiac sign that will go to all ends of the earth for beauty, balance, and harmony, 2015 may have left Libra brushing their own opinions under the rug in order to prevent an argument or miscommunication. In 2016, you should make it your resolution to try to be more confrontational when it matters most.

Scorpio: October 23 - November 21

As one of the most resourceful zodiac signs, it's likely that in 2015, you whipped out your phone to do some Instagram-stalking of your ex's new boyfriend or girlfriend. In 2016, know that they are completely not worth it, and make it your resolution to try and let go of jealousy!

Sagittarius
: November 22 - December 21

As a sign with a great sense of humor, it's likely that in 2015, you may have told a few jokes in that some people did not appreciate! Although it's not possible to always be a crowd pleaser, you could get a few more meaningful laughs in 2016 by making your resolution to try to think before you speak, and be a little more diplomatic.

Capricorn: December 22 - January 19

If you found yourself crying over criticism from a coach, family member, teacher, or friend this year, know that it's only because you are a sign that strives for utmost success, and you are genuinely rewarded when meeting goals. In 2016, however, you may have a better year if you make it your resolution to try to use criticism to better yourself, and shrug off unnecessary negative comments.

Happy New Year's, and good luck with your New Year's resolutions!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
