1. Read a Bible verse every day.
I know a lot of us don't have a lot of spare time during the day, but reading a single bible verse only takes less 2 minutes. Reading a bible verse in the morning before school or work is a great way to start your day. If you don't have a bible, there are apps and websites that can give you a daily verse and/or devotions.
2. Put a praise and worship song or two in your morning playlist
Another great way to start your morning is to listen to some worship songs. Listening to praise and worship in the morning reminds me how thankful I am to even be alive and it gets me super pumped for the day!
3. Pray before a meal
I know this sounds silly and old school but take just a few minutes to thank God for the meal he has placed in front of you. It helps remind you how lucky you are for small things like a meal.
4. Go to church more often
I know personally that after I went away to school I fell out of a routine and found myself going to church less and less. I didn't want to find a new church where I knew no one, but once I got out there and started visiting new churches I realized it wasn't that bad.
5. Bring a friend to church
It is always a great idea to bring a friend to church. You never know what your friends are going through, and the best way to help them might just be through the church. Who knows, you might not even know your friend was going through something until you bring them to church.
6. Say "I'm praying for you" and mean it.
We hear this phrase all the time but do we ever take the time to actually pray for them? So many times we say it as a response in a conversation just like "Thank you" or "Your welcome", but that's not what it is supposed to be. Next time you say "I'm praying for you" I dare you to actually pray for that person.
7. Stand up for your beliefs
I'll be the first to admit it that if I find myself in an uncomfortable situation most of the time I don't say anything because I am afraid of being judged. One thing I have realized over the years is that if the people you keep around you judge you for what you believe in, you shouldn't keep them around. Be confident in what you believe in because you'll be surprised at how many people around you believe the same things but are just too scared to say anything.
8. Bless someone at least once a week
Blessing someone doesn't necessarily mean spending money. Blessing someone can be as simple as a conversation or an act of kindness. If you see someone having a bad day, talk to them. If that kid next to you in class needs a scantron, give them your extra one. A simple act like that can go a long way in someone's life.
9. Stop 'modernizing' scripture
This is something I see all the time. We tend to use the excuse of "times are different now", or "it might have meant something different back then" to make ourselves feel better. I've caught myself doing this, questioning God's word but what we forget is that even thousands of years ago God knew what the future held. He knew how the times would change and the world would evolve and still compelled his disciples to write the words that they did.
10. Remember to thank God
Most of us are guilty of only talking to God when we need something. When we are constantly asking God for things we tend to forget to thank him for everything he has already done for us. We are constantly asking him for more and more and get angry when we don't get it, and when we are angry we question God instead of thanking him for the things we DO have.
