So many people don't realize just how versatile a yearly planner can be. Not only can you use it to keep track of dates and appointments, but you can use it for SO many other things, too!

Here are just a few ways using a planner this year will make your life 10x better. (And WAY more organized. Like a real adult.)

1.  Keeping track of a budget.

Setting up a budget is one thing, but actually using it and utilizing it is another. With a planner, not only can you set up your budget, but you can also keep active track of it through daily logging of your spending, income, paychecks, bills, etc. throughout the year. How cool is that!

Now there's no excuse for spending hundreds of dollars a month on eating out when you're actively tracking that number. Except, that probably won't change because of Alehouse.

2.  Making a meal plan.

Another way to utilize your 2019 planner is to use it for meal planning! Not only is meal planning a great way to save money, but it's also better for your health and weight—if that's something you're hoping to improve in the new year.

3.  Making lists.

Grocery lists, assignment lists, to-do lists, whatever you list, it's a life-saver to have them all in one place—which is another beauty of having a planner this year. I love lists, but I have a horrible habit of jotting them down wherever and then misplacing it. Which is incredibly frustrating. Can you imagine keeping them all in one place?

*contented sigh* "Heaven, I'm in heaven."

4.  Keeping a feelings journal.

I'm my adult life, I've found that keeping a feelings journal is probably the most beneficial thing you can do for yourself. Its helpful in tracking your moods and emotions to look for patterns, triggers, correlations with other things going on in your life. What better place to include that than your planner!

5.  Keeping a sleep tracker/dream journal.

Keeping track of your hours slept (and dreams you had) goes along with helping track your moods. Plus it’s great to go back and read your dreams later on in the year.

6.  Making goals.

A planner is a great place to keep track of your goals, too. Yearly goals, monthly goals, daily goals. All the goals.

7.  Tacking fitness and workout achievements.

Mistral Spirit

What better way to keep yourself motivated than by tracking your fitness progress, goals, and achievements. Not only that but if you have a Fitbit, this is the perfect place to log your daily steps and calories burned too.

So let's all make our New Years resolutions to be more organized and adult-like through utilizing a super awesome planner!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
