My New Years Resolution

2018, I'm thinking positive thoughts.

Many people say that they have a New Years Resolution. It can be a challenge to achieve the goals you want to work on. However challenging, there are some things that I want to do strive for in 2018; to treat myself more and to focus on my life goals.

I'm the kind of person that worries about a lot of things. I worry about exams, grades, relationships and it puts me in a stressful mood.

In 2018...

1. Meditate

I want to be able to learn how to do meditation by not letting my own thoughts control me. It's a freedom from stress, tension, and anxiety, which is a great way of being calm.

2. Travel

I want to travel to places where I feel like I'm on cloud nine. I want to feel the wind and listen to birds chirping. I want to be more familiar with nature.

3. Listen to Calming Music

I want to listen to music that puts me in a peaceful atmosphere like listening to acoustic guitars, smooth jazz or anything that puts my mind at ease.

4. Relax

I want to find my own happy place and not be so hard on myself. It's important to know when to relax because there is so much that can go on in a person's life. Too many people don't know when to set aside time to relax.

5. Get a Meaningful Tattoo

I want to get another tattoo that has a big meaning to it. I want to get something that is rare and beautiful and has a lot of thought behind it.

6. Buy Myself Flowers

I want to buy myself flowers just to make myself feel good. There is nothing wrong with spoiling yourself.

7. DANCE

I want to go to a party and dance to "There's Nothing Holding Me Back" by Shawn Mendes while eating chicken nuggets. This is my goal for 2018.

8. Stretch

I want to be even more flexible and to stretch more often.

9. Learn a New Language

I want to teach myself how to speak Korean, especially for K-Pop songs.

10. Take baths

I want to take baths using my favorite scent. I'm a huge fan of the smell of coconuts.

11. Think Positively

And most importantly, I want to have a positive attitude and to know that things will be fine throughout time.

I don't know for sure what's in the future for me. As of right now, I'm going with the flow of things but I want to put in more focus on my future. I want 2018 to be bright as the sunshine because I want to put in the effort to make that happen.

I know that there are many other people that have their New Year Resolutions and they want to make things better for themselves. That's exactly what I want to do for myself. I want to have more self-aware and have more goals. I have so much faith in myself and God does things for a reason.

I want to feel mostly satisfied for the year of 2018 and for many years to come. It's important to have self care and to be able to make yourself happy. It's best to make time for yourself and to do what makes your soul happy.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
