Arizona-based alternative band, The Sink Or Swim are creating tidal waves with their psychedelic vibes. This Arizona band is made up of: singer/guitarist, Nate Zeune (22); drummer, Louis Resnick (22); guitarist, Derek Rossman (19); and bassist, Niel Erlich (18). I got the chance to chat with Resnick to discuss his band and their future endeavors.
Heavily influenced by 60s and 70s decade music, they have been compared to the likes of Pink Floyd and the Beatles. After listening to their latest EP "High Tides", I could definitely hear the influences of bands such as Arctic Monkeys and The Killers, both lyrically and musically.
With two EPs and dozens of shows under their belt, the band will soon release a new single called "Arizona". The name of their new single already insinuates an oasis, to which the band has a base theme of the water and the sea. Resnick explained to me that two of the band members are pisces in the zodiac, which plays a part in inspiring the oceanic theme.
Their new single "Arizona", which will drop March 24th, will have “a more darker, mysterious psychedelic vibe.” They will release their new song at Quadraphoenix, a single showcase featuring four local bands. The show will be on March 24th at The Crescent Ballroom at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by clicking here. Resnick promises that Arizona has the potential to be “a summer-time jam”.
