When I heard Stephenie Meyer wrote a new Twilight book, Midnight Sun, I immediately hopped on Amazon to buy it (and yes, I'm an adult). For those who grew up loving Twilight, this is probably one of the best things to happen to 2020. But hold on - Meyer is in the progress of TWO more books, which means that our old teenage dreams can once again come to life by more mythological twists and turns. But this time, the books will highlight a completely different plotline - one where we won't have to watch Kristen Stewart's monotone acting again - I said what I said.
Although the release dates have not been announced (the books themselves are still in the outline process), Meyer chalked up the planning for her new books to the success of Midnight Sun's release. The release sold over 1M copies in just the first week, which means that Twilight fans still fawn over the once weird love triangle of Bella, Edward, and Jacob, which turned into just Bella and Edward, and then Jacob and Bella and Edward's baby, Renesmee, which still blows my mind - both the plotline and the name.
So what do the new books have in store for the Twilight fandom? No vampires. That's right, Stephenie Meyer is stepping away from the vampire realm we all know and love, and is going to create a whole new mythological realm for us to vicariously live in. The rest of the details are still under wraps, but I can guarantee I will be watching the OG Twilight movies until the new books are released.
Although the world won't get into the heated argument of team Edward or team Jacob again, I'm sure that the next books that Stephenie Meyer releases will bring back the nostalgia of having Twilight posters scattered across our walls, school supplies with the actor's faces on them, and books that were read cover-to-cover in our bookshelves. Who would have thought that Stephenie Meyer could save 2020?
