There is something about sitting with your feet buried in the sand, the sounds of the waves crashing, and soaking up the sun on a hot summer day at the Jersey Shore.

Every time I travel down the the beaches I get such a content feeling. As soon as I get on the Parkway I know that I am about a little over an hour from my happy place. As soon as we get off an exit and are a couple blocks from the beach you smell the ocean.

New Jersey, as most people from there refer to it as Jersey, is home to the famously known “Jersey Shore”. There are miles upon miles of beaches along the southern part of New Jersey. If you ask most people what they like to do they would respond with going down the shore. Many of the famous beaches are located in Seaside, Lavalette, Cape May, Sandy Hook, and many other towns along the ocean.

The shore, where all the beaches are, is just such a friendly and relaxing environment. Who wouldn't want to spend the whole day on the beach? Because I know for sure that I would. There is just something about your feet imprinting the sand when you walk along. Also, there is nothing like sitting in your chair eating your lunch and having what feels like a thousand seagulls surround you and try to steal your lunch. In addition, I like to play a game of catch or just sit and relax in my chair reading a book.

The perfect beach scenery is when the windy isn't to windy and you hair is ever so slightly blowing, the waves are crashing in the distance, and the smell of the ocean. It is just a perfect mix. If you couldn't already tell the warm weather and being at the beach is one of my favorite things ever, especially being at the beaches in my home state of New Jersey.

My favorite part about going to the beach is walking so far just to go and find some seashells. Maybe if I am lucky, even a sand dollar. Another thing I like to do is go boogie boarding with my sister. We have been doing it since we were little and it has become a tradition every time we go down the shore.

Not only are their beaches there are many boardwalks that run along the beaches. The boardwalks are awesome for families that want to play a few games or go on a few rides. There are also many great places to eat especially while having an oceanfront view. No matter where you are there is always a great place nearby to grab a quick bite to eat.

For those of you that have never been to any of the beaches in New Jersey, I suggest you go the views are incredible and they are some of the nicest beaches around.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
