It's A New Decade, So Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone And Do Something Different

2020 is the beginning of the new decade, which means it's time for some positive changes in your life. If you haven't ever stuck to your resolutions or you're unsure of what exactly needs to change, take a step back and consider all the things you've wanted to do but never have.

I'm not saying to max out your credit card for a European riverboat cruise, but maybe you should take small steps and get out of your comfort zone. On NYE, I tried the world's hottest hot sauce called "The End," which is something I would have never done, but I thought, "eh, why not?" and tried a tiny drop of it with my boyfriend. Did I regret it? Hell yes. But, I did something that scared and excited me, and it made me realize that I was a lot dumber than I thought. But hey, I'm young, I've got a whole new decade to do dumb shit.

There are other things that you can do to step out of your comfort zone. Maybe you've been wanting to take a yoga class but have no idea how to perform any of the poses or you aren't sure if this is something you can commit to. Look for free yoga classes in your area and try it out! There's no shame in wanting to try something new, even if you're not good at it.

Or, if you've got some money to spare, indulge yourself in that once-in-a-lifetime trip or experience. A staycation doesn't have to be boring. You can finally visit the spa you've always dreamt of treating yourself to, or you can grab your best buds and take that trip to Vegas you've always talked about. Maybe it's time for you to take on a solo adventure or get a reservation for one at the fancy restaurant that just opened up. Do something that makes your tummy flutter; who knows, you might even enjoy something like that.

Whatever it is, find something that you normally wouldn't do (within the laws, of course) and get to it. You'd be surprised what fun and exciting things you'll discover when you finally step outside of your comfort zone.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
