Let me begin with a question: What comes to mind when I say 'New Jersey'?
Probably dirty factories, super tan people, and obnoxious accents. I've been a Jerseyan for the majority of my life and I can say there's nothing quite like the Garden State.
But wait! What's that? You've only heardabout Jersey but you have never been? Well, here are some reasons why you should nevertravel there.
1. The Scenery
Why would you ever want to experience this actualpicture of the Kittatinny Ridge Loop for yourself? Look at all that vegetation! They don't call it the Garden State for anything! There are probably so many ticks in there...
2. The Food
What even isTaylor Ham? And it's even worse when it's served on a fresh bagel with melted cheese and an egg. The fact that you can get this in any diner in Jersey at 2 a.m. is also a massive downside.
3. The Shore
Ugh, the Jersey Shore. Visit once and you'll come back talking like a Long Islander and be looking like a carrot. Not worth the drive to one of the towns in the 141 mile stretch of oceanfront.
4. The Areas Near NYC That Aren't NYC
Hoboken and Newark are just places to drive through. No one is actually meantto stop and experience the myriad of cultures in these mini-cities. People just aren't meant to have traditional authentic Thai, Afghani, Italian, and Indian food all in one sitting, so why bother visiting these cities at all?
5. Actually, The Proximity to NYC
Who would ever want to be this close to the greatest city in the world? Day trips into NYC are a hassle what with the NJTransit system that puts you right into Penn Station under Madison Square Garden and near all the Subway stops to get you to wherever you want to go in NYC. Just the worst.
6. The History
It's not like George Washington actually stayedin one of these cabins in Jockey Hollow in the heart of New Jersey and fought some pretty impactful battles here. There's absolutely zero history in this state...well, besides in Menlo Park where Edison invented the lightbulb. That's a valid part of history.
7. The People
Look at these people having the time of their lives with their best friends in New Jersey. I bet you they agree with me that you should nevertravel here. Why would you want to experience all this state has to offer and find out for yourself what an amazing place it is?
