A superstar. Someone who has taken over the world and music industry in an incredibly short amount of time as both a voice and a role model. She's everything we look for in an artist by providing us with the whole package and more.
Her name is Camila Cabello and she's anything but a "one-hit wonder." She's already broken records, been a trending topic and taken over your radio and possibly even your tv. Havana may sound most familiar to you, but she is so much more than a single catchy tune that has taken over the pop airwaves.
She has just finished her first headlining tour, called the "Never Be The Same" tour, which completely sold out almost immediately. This tour has provided us with every reason and more that she is here to stay and will continue to create jaw-dropping art through sound in the best way possible.
Like many artists on their first headlining tour, Cabello decided to play intimate venues and provide her fans with a more up close and personal experience. For the lucky fans who were able to attend, it was a worthwhile event and possibly one of the greatest they have experienced yet. The only possible problem was that Cabello sold out this tour before some fans could even say "boo" and the possibility of a small tour like this happening again is less than likely. These small venues have been packed to capacity and directly portray Cabello's potential to sell out even larger venues and arenas in the near future.
The show all started out undoubtably strong and captivating and ended the same way.
At the beginning of the "Never Be The Same" tour's set, fans are most likely convinced that it is going to be a whole new concert experience and they are completely right. The show featured intimate and even dramatic visual interludes, fierce choreography and touched on subjects such as immigration and the Black Lives Matter movement through onstage visual production.
So what changed since the young girl who was on X-factor and in the massively successful girl group, Fifth Harmony, decided to go solo? If you ask me, it's confidence and comfortability on stage. She's comfortable in her own shoes and is undeniably connected to the songs she bolts out effortlessly night after night.
With both old and new tunes, Cabello pleases everyone on this tour. She includes her hit song with Machine Gun Kelly, "Bad Things," and even plays two new songs that were not on her album. One is titled "Scar Tissue" and the other features Pharrell Williams called "Sangria Wine." Fans are already beginning to speculate that one of these songs will be the star's next single and don't believe anyone would be disappointed with that decision. The setlist has a perfect balance between upbeat songs and ballads to provide fans with a multitude of emotions throughout the 90-minute set.
Once the show ends, fans are wishing they could relive every second and are subconsciously, or even consciously, singing her songs on their way to the venue's exit and into their car.
Although Cabello has only just concluded her first headlining tour, she has set the bar extremely high for both herself and other new artists. In this business, it's the matter of making a difference or not and Cabello undeniably does. Through this tour and everything else she takes part in, she is able to connect her cultural roots and teaches her fans either about immigration, the dreamers or simply accepting people for who they are. She is never shy about reminding others to be easier on themselves and to treat themselves like they would treat their best friends. Cabello uses her platform for good and to raise awareness and the fact that she incorporates that into her live shows is rather impressive.
The "Never Be The Same" tour has been making headlines since its start and that is because of the hard work and dedication Cabello and her team have put into it. The concert itself included aspects of live shows even some lifetime performers have yet to conquer or try. Through the production, impressive vocals and positive messages shared throughout Cabello's set, fans are left desperate for more and thinking about the show even days and weeks after it occurred. And with that being said, some may just never be the same.
