Are you looking to get ahead in life? Trying to get your small business out there? Maybe you are trying to make a name for yourself before you go out for interviews, and you want to make it easier to get hired in the future. The beautiful process that helps you with all of that is networking.

Networking, by business definition, is the attempt to make multiple lines of connection with multiple groups of people that allow you to cash-in favors and help you propel yourself into the real world. It is an excellent idea to attempt to start networking even before you leave high school. The reason being, you can forge better bonds with newly-made friends that can help you get farther than your peers in the future.

Networking is a great tool to use while looking for jobs. Networking, besides making new friends, also means trying to make connections with people that are maybe older than you, who will teach you what they know as well as help you get farther in life.

A little story about my networking experience, just for an example:

I am a DJ and a self-produced musician. When I was a senior in high school, I actually managed to get myself into the local Chamber of Commerce. I was curious and I wanted to know more about the small business world. I learned that certain chambers help each member out individually and that allows all parties to benefit. There were also chambers that did not do much for their members. However, I was lucky to be in a chamber where people helped each other.

We met every Friday and gave a little update on our small businesses and planned events that would benefit us and not the organization at all. It was almost like it was a club, not a chamber, but we did still pay dues.

Ways you can network include befriending professors and making connections with friends. another way is by creating a club or organization that allows you to group up with other people to benefit everyone involved. Do whatever you can to help expand your knowledge and gain connections in the business world.

Networking is a really great an important way to get ahead in life. So, get out there and network!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
