Netflix's 'The Dragon Prince' May Not Be All That It Was Cracked Up To Be

I just binged this whole series with my roommate and I have to admit that I was the only kind of okay with what I watched. Now if you haven't heard about what this show is, Netflix just released a new original series called 'The Dragon Prince.' When I first heard about this show coming out I was pretty excited because this show is written by the same guys who wrote 'Avatar: The Last Airbender,' so, with that in mind, I was really looking forward to this show. Yet there were a couple things holding me back from truly enjoying this show as a whole.

Before I go into what I didn't like, I do want to talk about what I did like and that was the writing. Now coming from the guys who wrote 'Avatar: The Last Airbender,' I was expecting good writing. In this area, my expectations were greatly met. The plot and the characters were amazing. I loved being able to follow the storyline and I was greatly invested in what happened with these characters. It was also a very well rounded storyline and nothing seemed to be majorly lacking in this area. So good job writers it's an amazing story.

But when it comes to watching an animated series, I hope that there would be good animation, especially when it comes to being a Netflix Original. I mean look at the new animated movie they just released, 'NextGen' has amazing animation and is really good quality. 'The Dragon Prince' animation feels so choppy and not up to par with a lot of the other animated series and movies that are out there. Now I don't know if it was these animators first time or not, but this is something that had a lot of people working on it based on the credits.

Overall, it is still a good show and after a while, you do get used to the choppiness of the animation because the storyline is something that you can really get invested in, but I was really just hoping for a little bit more when I first heard about this show coming out. As far as the future goes, there aren't any official plans for a season two yet, but I will say that I would like a season two. I'm intrigued to see what happens with the storyline and what comes next. The plot and the characters had good backbones and were really investable and lovable to watch, but I hope that if there is a season two that the animation gets stepped up.

A step up in the animation would greatly make this show even more enjoyable because it will not be as distracting and pull you out of the world that you are experiencing. In the end, I truly hope that as time goes on this show just continues to get better, but I will admit for being the first season I just feel like the game should have been stepped up just a little bit more.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
