A cure for a boring summer at home: the best five series to binge watch on Netflix.
During the school year, we're filled with hours on hours of classes, homework, clubs, athletic practices, philanthropy events and social gatherings. However when summer rolls around, we have countless hours of time with no activity to fill them with. This is the perfect time to get addicted to a TV show without suffering from the FOMO you would inevitably feel if you stayed cooped up in your dorm room. For roughly $7.99 a month you can experience the so called “Netflix binge.” Here are a few of my recommendations of TV shows I love after binge watching them in past summers.
Gossip Girl. Cliché, but by far one of the best shows of all time. This
show will make you envious of New York’s elite but, most importantly, Gossip Girl
will make you fall in love with Chuck Bass. You’ll be doubting me for the first
few sessions, but trust me, by the end of the series you will be wishing he was
yours. Whether you’re a Blaire or a Serena, you will instantly fall in love with
this show and be dying to know who Gossip Girl is. Do not Google to find out who Gossip Girl is. It will be far better when you are surprised at
the end of the series!Â
One Tree Hill. My favorite part is that as time
progresses in the series, the storyline remains strong. While most shows
should be calling it quits after the third season, One Tree Hill is successful
through all eight seasons. This show will having you fall in love with the
characters as they deal with family, romance and professional drama while pursuing
their dreams.Â
Grey’s Anatomy. This is a classic example of a show that fails with time. Watch
the first couple of seasons and then move on to a new
Netflix binge. Though I love McDreamy, you will be left
bored and questioning why they didn’t just call it quits after the sixth season. Despite its lack
of consistency, the first few seasons will leave you intrigued for hours.
Additionally, some of the older male characters define the word DILF.Â
Friday Night Lights. All around, an amazing and inspiring show. You will fall in
love with the characters as they struggle through the most life altering
tragedies. Another benefit of this show is that your entire family will love it. But I don't recommend you wait around for
them to watch the next episode.
Scandal. How can one not be intrigued by the dirty laundry of the
President of the United States? Though this TV show is completely fictional, it keeps people of all ages intrigued.
The best part about is that after you catch up on the first three seasons on Netflix, you have an unknown number of seasons ahead of you.
