I'm going to start off my mentioning that f/f YA books are very hard to come by compared to other books, and I actually found out about this book on a tumblr blog about lesbians in books. It's When Women Were Warriors Book I : the Warrior's Path by Catherine M Wilson.
Representation is so important. That was the main reason I read this book, but I actually ended up loving all of it. That, and it was free on Amazon! I'm a sucker for fantasy, so this book couldn't go wrong for me. My only complaint would be that it wasn't very long, so there were los of questions in my mind. However, there are two more books which I haven't yet read so hopefully they'll satisfy me.
I loved the relationship between Tamras and Maara. The mystery behind Maara's past really intrigued me, and it still does. I loved how she ended up opening up to Tamras bit by bit. I found the whole plot very interesting, and a very female centred book provided something new for me which I loved! The concept of the book was so unique and I can't wait to read the other two.
If you want to read a good LGBT book (although it's a slow burner), want a quick read or love fantasy, you should give this book a go. I gave it 4 stars!
